About

Clarity before
commitment

I help founders, operators, and investors make clear, high-stakes decisions about technology—especially AI—without relying on hype, guesswork, or blind bets.

I'm the founder of Prefrd, a technology platform built with agentic AI developers that enables people to transform personal referral networks into structured, trackable referral flows—so trusted connections generate repeatable value without repetitive manual effort.

Alongside that, I serve as Director of Product at CareRev, where I lead product strategy across a large-scale healthcare marketplace operating in people-heavy, highly regulated environments. Since 2022, my focus has been on building reliable systems, aligning teams around what actually matters, and scaling through periods of rapid growth and acquisition.

My approach is simple: start with clarity, apply technology selectively, and execute only where it creates real leverage. I believe AI should reduce pressure—not create more of it—and that using it well requires discipline, not noise.

This isn't about doing more.
It's about doing the right things—deliberately.

Philosophy

A different approach to AI counsel

AI decisions are rarely technical problems. They're judgment problems—made under pressure, uncertainty, and real operational constraints. My role is to help you make those decisions clearly, before momentum forces the wrong ones.

Independent by design

I don’t sell software, take referral fees, or carry quotas. My only incentive is helping you reach the right outcome—even if that means recommending you don’t move forward at all.

Pragmatic, not evangelical

I’m not here to convince you AI is transformative. If it already matters to your business, we skip the theater and focus on what actually works. If it doesn’t, we say that plainly.

Selective by default

I work with a small number of clients at a time. I say no more than I say yes. You’re not buying capacity or output—you’re buying judgment and attention.

Clarity over consensus

My job is to give you an honest assessment, especially when it’s uncomfortable. Good decisions don’t come from validation; they come from clear thinking and informed tradeoffs.

Boundaries

What I don't do

×Generic AI training workshops

I don’t deliver broad AI education detached from a specific business objective.

×Tool or vendor comparisons

I don’t evaluate software in isolation—tools follow strategy, not the other way around.

×Proof-of-concept exercises without a path to impact

I don’t build demos unless there’s a clear route to production and ROI.

×Staff augmentation or capacity fill

I don’t embed as extra hands on a team; I engage to assess, design, and guide decisions.

×Open-ended, volume-based advisory

I don’t operate on hours or headcount—I focus on defined outcomes and leverage.

×AI for its own sake

I don’t recommend AI unless it can materially improve cost structure or revenue.

Client Perspectives

Brandon has been an excellent Product Manager and leader of the team(s). I was impressed by the clear communication and the genuine effort Brandon made to help me learn along the way.
